Calcaneal Spur

    Calcaneal Spur

A calcaneal spur is a bony outgrowth from the calcaneal tuberosity (heel bone). Calcaneal spurs are typically detected by x-ray examination. It is a form of exostosis. When a foot is exposed to constant stress, calcium deposits build up on the bottom of the heel bone.

Symptoms of heel spurs can include:

  • sharp pain like a knife in the heel when standing up in the morning.
  • a dull ache in the heel throughout the rest of the day.
  • inflammation and swelling at the front of the heel.
  • heat radiating from the affected area.
  • small, visible bone-like protrusion under the heel.

Homeopathy is a medical system which has been in use over 200 years developed by German physician Dr Samuel Hahnemann based on the belief that the body can cure itself. Those who practice it use tiny amounts of natural substances, like plants and minerals. They believe these stimulate the healing process. This is also mentioned in ancient Hindu manuscripts.
